The significant application of the metal baler machine is in the compression of scrap metals into bales with specific sizes. The device can be automatically or manually operated. The baling process is completed using a hydraulic transmission process as the principle of operation.

The elements involved in the sealing process are designed to provide excellent resistance to both high temperature and pressure to ensure a high-density bale.

Now, let’s look at how the baler machine works.

How Does a Hydraulic Metal Baler Work?

The electric control system, the hydraulic station, and the metal baler work together to accomplish the entire baling process.  The working process involves the following steps:

Step 1. which involves feeding the material

After the pump is started, the scrap metal is fed into the press box in a moderate amount.

A moderate amount of the scrap metal is fed into the press box as soon as the pump is started.

Step 2. 2nd compress involves pressing the metal box

As the oil at high pressure feeds the side cylinder back cavity, the piston rod reaches out and drives the side pusher forward. This causes the side pusher to mount pressure, as it presses the metal in the box until the front dead center is reached. This is where the 2nd compress ends.

Step 3. 3rd Compress

Just like in the previous step, the piston reaches out and drives the main pusher forward to press the metal in the box as the high-pressure oil feeds into the back cavity of the main cylinder. However, it is essential to hold for about 3 to 5 seconds when reaching the preset pressure value before you end the final compress.

Step 4. the top cylinder is reset

The door cover is lifted and opened as the high-pressure oil makes its way into the top cylinder front cavity

Step 5. the cylinder is reset

The side cylinder is reset as soon as the high-pressure oil enters the side cylinder front cavity

Step 6. the main cylinder is reset

The main cylinder is reset as soon as the hydraulic at high pressure enters the main cylinder front cavity

Step 7. the Bale is out

The turning mechanism which turns the bale out is driven as the high-pressure oil enters the flip-over cylinder back cavity.

Step 8. the flip-over cylinder is reset

The baling process is finished and the bale is ready as soon as the flip over cylinder is reset. The next baling process should be commenced after feeding the next batch of material.

Different Bale out Types

The different bale out types include the following:

Side pushing:

Following the completion of the baling process, there is a side push of the bale from the side of the press box. The bale moves onboard the ship or truck with the help of the sliding track. This process saves the stress and labor involved in conveying the bale.

Forward pushing:

Following the completion of the baling process, the bale is pushed out of the press box in a forward direction. This bale out type is best suited for light materials.

Side turning:

The bale is completed with apparent corner angles as it turns out of the press box, assuming a 90 degree. However, it is the most preferred bale out type.

With the wide range of metal baler for sale in the market, it could be challenging to ascertain the best supplier for your baling needs. However, it is essential to look out for features such as reliable sealing properties, ease of operation and maintenance, and compact structure. Considering these factors will ensure that you choose a device that suits your industrial needs.

Liaising with a reputable hydraulic baling machine manufacturer will also help you in your journey to sealing the best deal and getting top quality and standard equipment. They will help you to choose and also customize your machine.
